COVAL Launches Second Generation of Carbon Vacuum Gripper

Cobot Coval gripper

COVAL SAS has introduced the second generation of its CVGC carbon vacuum gripper, designed for collaborative robots. This new version aims to optimize its modularity and compatibility while enhancing its performance.

It is available in three sizes, two types of gripping interfaces, and with or without an integrated vacuum generator. Additionally, it features three mounting options and six connecting cables, making it compatible with all major cobot brands. The inclusion of a multi-stage vacuum pump increases the gripper’s power, allowing it to handle heavier loads thanks to its carbon fiber casing, which is 2.5 times lighter than steel and six times stronger.

The CVGC’s design also includes safety measures, such as a guard around the edges made of flexible and resistant material to protect the operator in case of contact. Furthermore, the various functions of the gripper are housed in a casing that protects them from impacts and damage. COVAL states that the CVGC is a versatile tool available to all manufacturers, integrators, and cobot users for applications such as palletizing, gripping boxes, or plastic parts, among others.
